Rain, rain and more Rain. The only thing that didn’t get rained on was the parade. It was not a good year for the Rodeo Arts & Crafts, and the Flea Market because of rain. We had the Karaoke contest again. Queens pageant was a success with nine girls competing. A.J. Carl Amusement made a debut but rain wasn’t good for them either . They caused a lot of damage to the field. Saloon was busy as usual. Beacon Sales was a sponsor for the rodeo. Elvis was at Oak Park on Sunday. Fireworks were held even in the rain, again poor attendance.

Made donation to the library project of $1000.00 leaving a balance of $2000.00. Gave $500.00 to Christmas Kiddies and $500.00 to Holiday Food Basket Project. Feels good to make a little money. 2008

This year at Charlotte Frontier Days proved to be a challenge that all the
Board Members were up for.
Michigans Economic situation did take a toll on our Sponsorship this year
but you would'nt know it because of the way the different committees were able to still put on a great Festival.

Some of the Highlights for this years Festival were the Queens Pagent was moved back down to the Saloon and the Teen and Jr Teen were held at the Senior Center, both were very well attended. The Sun Dance Frontier Saloon Opened on Wednesday were the Sponsor Kick Off Dinner was held. Third Annual Chili Cook-Off, Battle Of The Bands, and Classic Car Cruise were a hit again.

Downtown held all kinds of fun activities again, including the Window decorating contest, sidewalk art contest, pizza eating contest and much more. PRCA Rodeo kicked off on friday night. Flea Market and Arts and Crafts ran Fri thru Sun.

The Grand Parade was held on Saturday with good weather and a huge crowd. Attendance might have been down a little compared to previous years but that was expcted. All in all good weather for the week so all outside events went really well.

The 10th Annual Cowboy Golf outing was again a huge success thanks to Broadway Acres. We were able to contribute close to $2500 to the Hospice House this year to help with Our pledge to them. We are already making plans for next years Festival so please put the week after Labor day 2009 in your plans to visit us.
