The 2009 Campbell Dance Studio
"Dancing Deputies"!

The Campbell Dance Studio is back again, celebrating their 35th year of participation, with the popular “Dancing Deputies” dance group.  Made up of local ladies, they perform each year for Charlotte Frontier Days.  Wilma Campbell, former local Dance Studio owner, dreamed up the idea for an entertaining addition to the new festivities.  These exceptional ladies have dubbed themselves “step-sisters” and have shared wonderful friendships over the years.   Often a commitment of this type is far too great for most people, but because the “Deputies” perform for just limited engagements, it is tailor made for their lives.

The 2009 “Dancing Deputies” are:

Terri Cicorelli is the Vice President of family owned ”Frank's Food Mart" and is the mother of two daughters, and also has a new granddaughter.  From the moment she put her tap shoes on, she has been a prized addition to the group.  She has added so much charm and sophistication to the dancers, and is a terrific mentor for the incoming Deputies.

Denise Dahlgren, mother of two daughters, started with the group in 1997.  She is employed by the State of Michigan, and is also a medical transcriptionist. Denise is an extremely dedicated dancer, and prides herself on always coming through!

Sharla Piepkow, has a daughter and son and is employed by Jackson National Life. Sharla's first year as a Deputy was 2001, also fulfilling her dream to become a Deputy.

Lexie Balch is dancing for her third year as Deputy, and proving once again that all those lessons and paying attention in class, really paid off.  She is a student at LCC majoring in Medical Office Administration, and employed by Tropical Tanning.

Jillian Yeates  is employed at Zimmer and O’Deen as a case manager. and is grad student at Cooley Law School.   She also has many fond memories of growing up within the Campbell Dance Studio family.

Holly Baum is a returning Deputy and daughter of Lori.  She is a student at GVSU, majoring in Business and employed at Great Clips.  It has been a real treat to have her return to the group!

Lauren St. John is one of 2 new additions for this season, and sister to Grace.  She is employed at MSU-Center for Integrative Toxicology as an Editor.  She also freelances, and works on invitation designs.  Lauren and Grace are fulfilling a life-long dream of becoming Deputies, and we are so fortunate to have a pair that fit in so well.

Grace Parker is Lauren’s sister and a student at MSU, majoring in Communications.  She is a model, and has been selected as a calendar girl for the Campus Girls 2010 Calendar, representing MSU.  The proceeds for the purchase of this calendar go 100% to Breast Cancer Research.  Grace is employed at MSU as well, at the IM Circle Gym.

Lori Baum is mother of two sons, and one daughter, the Campbell Dance Studio owner, choreographer, and instructor of the “Dancing Deputies".  She is extremely proud of her dancing “step-sisters”, and loves being able to contribute to the hometown festival!
