On Tuesday, September
4th, the
37th annual Charlotte Frontier Days Queens Pageant was held at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center. Many family members and friends filled the auditorium to watch and vote for their favorite candidate.
Prior to the pageant, each candidate sat with the judges for the first portion of their competition; the personal interview. The judges were able to get to know the candidates during this section of the competition by asking them questions based off of their personal biographies. Then, the pageant opened with a line dance choreographed by Melissa Foster and sung by Michael Zamora. Following the line dance the candidates were judged on Western Wear, Evening Gown and a Question and Answer session.
Before the announcement of the new queen, Andrea Szymanski was selected for the Community Service Award. Kelly Williams was selected as Miss Photogenic, Community Favorite was awarded to Cathy Randall and the candidates selected Kathi Cornwell as Miss Congeniality.

She is currently working at Marshall Field’s and enjoys reading, writing, spending time with family and friends and her biggest passion is in the kitchen cooking.
